Excision for Cystic Tumor in Most of Pancreas Parts for a Female Patient at Dallah Alnakheel Hospital

Pro. Dr. Hamad bin Hadi Al Kahtani, Professor and consultant of hepato, pancreato and biliary surgery at Dallah Alnakheel Hospital and Dr. Safaa Kerahah, an anesthesia consultant, a medical team member, said that a 45 years female patient presented with a pain in the upper abdomen months ago with diabetes, difficulty in digestion and weight loss.

After performing required checks, it is found a cystic tumor diffused in most of pancreas parts. The required procedure was performed in such cases, and pancreas, spleen, gall bladder, gallbladder ducts and duodenum were totally excised. The procedure has lasted five hours.

They reported that the procedure is one of the largest procedures performed in pancreas and only performed in specialized hospitals. The procedure succeeded and the patient recovered during seven days and discharged the hospital in perfect health.
