What is a dental implant?

Dental implants replace broken down and missing natural teeth. It is inserted firmly in the jawbone, with then a tooth crown made on top of the implant.

The Material used consists of strong Titanium (Roxolid) material which is biocompatible inserted into the jawbone in place of a tooth root.

What is the procedure of starting dental implant treatment?
1. Consultation and examination

2. Clinical assessment and planning
Your dentist will do a thorough clinical assessment including Radiographs and 3D scans showing bone quality and quantity. Records including photos/ impressions/ and models done for the case.

3. Tooth extraction (if applicable)

To maintain natural dimensions, bone augmentation in the extracted area may be required.

4. Implant surgery
To place the implant, your doctor will open your gum and and place the implant at the correct site in the bone.

6. Impression taking and prosthetic restoration production
When the implant has completely healed, it will be time to start the restorative step. Your dentist in collaboration with the dental laboratory normally does this to replace the missing tooth and restore your smile.

7. Prosthetic restoration fitting
When the final prosthetic restoration is ready, your dentist will fix it to the respective implant(s), and make the necessary adjustments, ensuring your bite is comfortable, functional and esthetically as planned.

From now on, you will be able to eat, smile and laugh naturally again.
