Radiology

The department of radiology, medical imaging and nuclear medicine unit in Dallah Hospital provide patients with wide range of high quality diagnostic imaging and therauptic services and procedures, provided by highly qualified team of radiologists, technologists, nurses, secretaries and archieving technicians.


Provided Services:

General X-ray:
Machines: 8 digital + 4 portable.

 Sonography (Ultrasound) :
Machines: 15 station state-of-the-art (3D/4D, Doppler, musculoskeletal, guided
biopsies and interventional procedures) ultrasound machines + 2 portable.

Computed Tomography (CT Scan):
Machines: 3 machines (Two Siemens 128 slice and one 64 slice from GE). All capable to perform coronary and body angiography.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI):
Machines: 2 (Siemens 1.5 Tesla Magnetom Avanto Tim Dot System and GE Optima
450w 1.5 Tesla (wide bore 70cm).

Nuclear Medicine including Nuclear Cardiology:
Machines: Dual-Head Gamma Camer (Philips Bright view X)
Therapy using radioactive iodine (131 I) in treatment of thyroid diseases.

Bone Mineral Densitometry (DXA) for Osteoporosis:
Machines: 2 Holgic –Delphi and Horizon

Digital Fluroscopy and Angiography:
Machines: Siemens Axiom Artis.
Interventional procedures including neuro and body procedures.

Mammography (Breast Imaging):
Machines: Hologic Selenia and Hologic multicare platinum for screening for early deduction of breast cancer and sereotactic prone table guided biopsy.



CME & Training:

 Internal weekly CME activity for doctors, radiology residents and technologists.
Training 4-6 doctors in radiology residency program.


Achievements:

Shifting from hard copy film to completely film less throughout the Hospital, using picture archiving and communication system (PACS), using most advanced system SECTRA (Switzerland).

Efficiently contributing to the Hospital efforts to obtaine and renewal of JCI and ISO certificates.

Complete digital environment.


Recent accomplishment:

Reacreditation of department by Saudi Council for Health Specialities till 30th September 2020 as a training and teaching centre for doctors in Residency program for Radiologist Speciality seeking Saudi Board certificate in Radiology.

Availability of CT scan for cardiac studies, all vascular studies and dental implant studies.

MRI studies for cholesestoma (inner ear) prior to acoustic implant, MRE (Enteroclysis small intestine studies), MRI for Prostate studies, MRI for dynamic defecogram, and MRI for TMJ joint for dental studies.
