Radiology

The Radiology Department, medical imaging and Nuclear Medicine Unit in Dallah Hospital provides patients with a wide range of quality diagnostic imaging and therapeutic services and procedures.

Provided Services:
  • General X-ray
    • Machines: 5 digital general and 3 portable
  • Sonography (Ultrasound)
    • Machines: 12 stationary and 1 portable
  • Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
    • Machines: GE VCT XTe 64 slices & GE – CTi single slice (under replacement by 128 slice CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • The new technology (Prone Table Breast Biopsy-Stereotactic Biopsy) is more accurate in localization of the biopsy site using computer assistance and mammography, is also more comfortable for the patient owing to the specially designed bed instead of the conventional technique in the sitting position.
  • Machines: Siemens 1.5 Magnetom Avanto Tim Dot System & - GE Optima 450w 1.5 T (wide bore 70 cm)
  • Nuclear Medicine including Nuclear Cardiology
    • Diagnostic
    • Therapeutic, using radioactive iodine (131 I) in treatment of thyroid diseases
    • Machines: Dual-head Gamma Camera and Philips Bright view X
  • Bone Mineral Densitometry (DXA) for Osteoporosis
    • Machines: Hologic and Delphi
  • Digital Fluoroscopy & Angiography
    • Machines: Siemens and Axiom Artis
  • Mammography (Breast Imaging)
    • Machines: Hologic (Selenia Dimensions) with multi care platinum Stereotactic Breast Biopsy Guidance System
  • Panoramic (Dental)
    • Machines: Kodak digital and Kodak 8000C

CME & Training
  • Internal weekly CME activity for doctors and technologists, as well as weekly Hospital

  • About 5-10 undergraduate technicians and technologists from different institutes in Riyadh, especially from King Saud University, undergo their training in our Department every year

Recent Accomplishments
  • Shifting from hardcopy film to completely filmless throughout the Hospital, using picture archiving and communication system (PACS)
  • Efficiently contributing to the Hospital’s effort to obtain JCI Certification
